Stories from the Western Front - Wardrobe Trunk Restoration

I've had this trunk for a couple of years now. I purchased it from a very nice lady on Kijiji. She had inherited it from a Great Aunte. Apparently this aunt had been quite the character - a "spinster" who had never married, instead had traveled the country as a clothes buyer for the T. Eaton Co. Not so strange for 2016, somewhat eccentric for the 1930's!

These wardrobe trunks were very popular in the early & mid 1900's, allowing one to hang their clothes on one side along with providing multiple drawers on the other side. The bottom drawer is actually a shoe box. All drawers lock in place..... I'll show you more of that mechanism later.

Tomorrow I'll tell you more about being a buyer for the T. Eaton Co. and my plans for the trunk. Bye for now ............
